Education

I am currently an undergraduate student here at the University of Iowa, I plan on completing my degree by December 2024. 

My name is Sushil Desai, I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I am now beginning my Senior year, I am studying Biology with an emphasis on Integrative Biology, I am also working on gaining a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management. Since I was a child, I’ve wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. When I first began at the University, I was focused on pursuing medical school, but after experiencing different areas of the field my focus has changed. Since I began my position as a Research Assistant in Dr. Mangalam’s lab, I have become increasingly interested in the drug development area of research. I plan on working with Dr. Mangalam’s lab for the next year. After I complete my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue to Pharmacy school. I am extremely excited to keep working with the Mangalam team and finish my degree.
