Bio

I completed my undergraduate, graduate, and medical education at the University of Connecticut, training in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Clark and studying the role of microbiome-derived products in modulating inflammatory processes in the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis (MS). In 2021 I came to the University of Iowa for residency in Neurology, where I joined Dr. Mangalam's lab. My research interests focus on the mechanisms by which different bacterial species in the microbiome generate various downstream immune phenotypes in the host organism, particularly through varied interactions with toll-like receptors (TLRs) and other innate immune signaling pathways. Outside of research and clinical neurology, I enjoy exploring nature, tabletop roleplaying games, and learning about music, culture, and history.
