Dr. Ashutosh Mangalam received a five-year NIH R01 research grant entitled “Linking diet, gut microbiota and autoimmune disease: Bacteria induced phytoestrogen metabolites impact immune function in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalitis”.

Shailesh K. Shahi will present his research findings at the 2017 Annual AAI meeting in Washington D.C. He is working on a research project to decipher the role of gut microbiota in an animal model of multiple sclerosis.

Pathology Faculty Members Receive Carver Trust Medical Research Initiative Grants

Shailesh K. Shahi has been awarded the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s (NMSS) Travel Award for 2016 Autumn Immunology Conference, held in Chicago November 18-21, 2016. He is working on a research project to decipher role of gut microbiota in modulation of multiple sclerosis (MS) in its animal model.
